Cause Of Yeast Infection

Yeast infections are mostly embarrassed for women to talk about. Yet, in order to treat them right you need to know what is the main cause of yeast infection?

Knoing what are the reason why you may have that terrible itchiness or vaginal discharge will help you find the proper treatment of yeast infection. Most of the people, especially women, treat vaginal thrush superficially and end up with a chronic candidiasis which is harder to get rid of with easily available otc drugs for candida or home remedies.

The main cause of yeast infection is the growth of Candida Albicans. This bacteria is normally present in our body, especially in our digestive tract and it is not dangerous if it is in a reasonable size numbers.

What makes Candida Albicans bacteria overgrowth?

This is a good question to ask yourself because once you find the answer you will know what to avoid and how to cure candidiasis. Here are some common causes of candidasis overgrowth: weak immune system, antibiotics, poor diet, stress, constant take and stop of birth control pills for women, steroids, diabetes, lots of sugar consumption, moldy house, some chemicals in household products, pregnancy, and others.

As you can see there are many things that can trigger an overgrowth of Candida Albicans. Yet, taking antibiotics for long period of times is the most common. Another one is the hormonal imbalnces in your body which is common during pregnancy. Developing yeast infections during pregnancy is something regular so you should not be too concern about it, just go to your doctor and he will give you safe treatment for your condition.

Men experience yeast infection the same as women do. Most of them they do develop yeast themselves due to the causes I mention earlier or they can get it from an infected partner. The same is valid for women, too. This is the reason why many people wrongly believe thrush or yeast infection is a STD and they are ashamed by it to seek proper treatment to a doctor.

There are lots of treatments for yeast infections available, depending on your condition. Some people may have simple vaginal thrush, others a chronic condition where yeast infections come and go every few months and the systemic yeast infection which is more rare, but more dangerous as well.
